Whether it’s in Edmonton, Calgary, Jasper, or Banff, there’s a ski hill that will take you on incredible journeys. You don’t have to be a ski or snowboarder; there’s also room for those who like to chill in the chalet. No matter what your vibe is, there’s a hill to match it.
Without further ado, let’s get into the best ski hills to check out in Alberta this winter.
Rabbit Hill is Edmonton’s largest snow resort, offering over 40 acres of terrain and a thrilling tube park for over 70 years. It is now open for the winter season.

Ski and snowboard season is set to begin on Dec. 5, and we can’t wait. This Olympic hill has so much to offer, including but not limited to its Advanced Terrain Park for expert skiers.
Where: 88 Canada Olympic Rd. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Nakiska is known best for its lengthy ski season, as well as having over 70 excellent trails. It’s a stunning hill with many amenities like its tube park and many lodgings, perfect for a ski or snowboarding day with the family.
Where: 2 Mt Allan Dr., Kananaskis, Alta.
Banff’s Sunshine Village is one of the best, if not the best, ski hills in Alberta. Famous for Canada’s Best Snow and three mountains of diverse terrain, Sunshine is proud to feature runs ranging from easy greens to the hardest double blacks.

Over 100 runs are currently open at this point in time, with Lake Louise’s Ski Resort being a prime ski and snowboard spot. Richardson’s Ridge is joining the hill, with 200 acres of new terrain coming this season.

With six lifts spinning, Marmot Basin is ready to be explored. This hill is for new adventurers and seasoned skiers alike, with so many runs open for everyone.
