This Calgary mall just iced over its upper parkade to make two skating rinks for charity

Sharpen your skates and get ready to glide Calgary, because South Centre Mall just announced their new Top Deck Skating rinks, two new sheets of ice in support of local charities and family fun.

This Winter, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between February 3rd and the end of March (weather depending), Southcentre Mall will be the place to get some fresh air with fellow Calgarians who can also keep their balance!

Iced over and open to those willing to provide a $2 donation, these rinks have completely taken over the upper deck of the North East Parkade – meaning the view is fantastic and the space is aplenty!

While one whole area will be dedicated to those looking for a slow and steady skate, the other will be reserved for sticks and competition in hopes of raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary.

Interested in getting a hockey game together? This rink can be booked in 90-minute increments and can accommodate up to 40 people per game.

The money, as we mentioned, will go towards mentoring young Calgarians facing adversity and will help shape future generations for the better, which is a pretty incredible cause – so lace up!

If you’d like to book now, you can do so via their website – though it should be noted, that rentals will not be available on-site so come prepared. It’s going to be a n-ICE day!
