SIX The Musical is playing in Toronto and here’s everything you need to know about it

It’s like history class, but with better outfits and a lot more singing!

SIX The Musical is a historically reimaged tale about Henry VIII’s six wives – from THEIR perspective. The twist is that these infamous six Tudor queens are trading their gowns for pop divas’ crowns, telling their story in an iconic 80-minute concert-style performance.

If every history lecture was like this, you’d never get bored.

Curiocity had the privilege of attending the opening night, and believe us when we say that the performance was hands-down amazing!

SIX The Musical made its Toronto debut with flash, flair, and award-winning musical hits. The Royal Alexandra Theatre was decked out to the nines with a royal purple carpet for cast members, producers, and fans to get in on the fun.

Spotted on the starlit carpet was SIX Producer David Mirvish, who couldn’t say enough about his excitement for the new show and the talented actors.

Andria Macasaet, the actress who portrays Anne Boleyn in the Broadway production of SIX, shared: “I’m excited to see the girls shine. I know how hard and intense it is, so I’m just excited to see them thrive.”

Toby Marlow, writer and 2022 Tony Award-winner for Best Score with Lucy Moss for SIX, walked the carpet along with colleagues Roberta Duchak (Music Supervisor), Galial Backal (Associate Director), and Taylor McMahon (Resident Choreographer).

It was a star-studded turnout, with actors from other Mirvish Productions also showing up to enjoy the show. Trevor White from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Louise Pitre from Mamma Mia! were among the local actors who turned out to support opening night.
