9 TV shows you may not know are being filmed in Toronto

Toronto is continuing its quest to be Hollywood North. There are new productions of movies and TV shows right here on our streets. At any given time, there are at least a couple of shows filming in Toronto.

According to the City of Toronto, our city “is one of the top five screen-based industries in North America with a full scope of industry connections, services, suppliers, talent, crew, facilities and locations delivering everything required for success in pre-production through post production.”

So what’s currently filming or starting production in Toronto? Here are a few shows to know about:

Canada’s Got Talent S2

Do you have talent? Well, it looks like Canadians definitely do because filming for Canada’s Got Talent season two starts October 19. The TV show is being revived and it’s back and bigger than ever. It’s set to stop filming on March 16, 2023

Glamorous, S1

We love a good Netflix series and it looks like one of them is currently being filmed in the city. According to IMBD, the story is about a young gender non-conforming queer man named Marco Mejia “whose life seems to be stuck in place until he lands a job working for legendary makeup mogul Madolyn Addison.” Filming is set to end November 4, 2022.

Orphan Black: Echoes

If you loved the Orphan Black series, get ready for the new upcoming thriller set in the same universe. Filming in the city is set to end this December 19, 2022.

Letterkenny S11

Fans of the Canadian-based TV show Letterkenny will be glad to know season 11 is currently in filming. They’ve only been filming for a few weeks now and they’ll wrap up on September 30.

Hardy Boys S3

It looks like Hulu’s Hardy Boys is back for a third season and production is already in motion. The adventure yet supernatural show began filming on September 12 and is set to end on November 25.

The Lake S2

The Lake, a Canadian Amazon Prime Video original series according to Deadline, is now getting a second season and its being filmed in Toronto. It’s ending production on September 28.

Murdoch Mysteries

The beloved CBC show is back for another run – now on its 16th season. Get ready for more of the mystery-filled show. It’s already in production and its set to end February 7, 2023.

What We Do In The Shadows S5

Back for a new season, What We Do In The Shadows mockumentary series is in the city, in full swing. Production is set to end just before the year ends on December 5, 2022.

Run The Burbs S2

Another CBC Gem is back in action and it’s being filmed in Toronto! According to IMBD, it’s about “a young, bold Canadian family taking a different approach to living life to the fullest in the suburbs.” Filming is set to end November 18, 2022.
