Now in its second year, the Shipyards Christmas Market is a European-inspired holiday market that’s completely free to attend, and it’s transforming North Vancouver into a jolly winter wonderland.
Last year, organizers promised to expand the market with each passing year, which means this year’s festivities are sure to be even bigger and brighter.
Guests can sip on decadent hot chocolate from multiple vendors, as well as holiday market faves like mulled wine, hot apple cider, and craft beer, all the while taking in the twinkling lights and festive displays. The market will also feature North Vancouver’s Christmas tree, which will brighten the centre of the festivities and make for the perfect backdrop for any group photo.
Live music, choirs, and roaming performers will keep your spirits high, as will the plethora of treats and gifts you can purchase from the market’s lineup of over 140 local vendors and artisans.
Don’t forget to lace up your skates and take advantage of the market’s transformed ice rink.
“We’ve been to many European Christmas markets and thought we needed to share that experience with others here,” explain organizers. “We’re all about giving back to the community and having the community involved, mainly because we know from experience how tough it can be financially to take the family out to events. Our goal is to host a Christmas market that’s free to get into, like European traditions, and aimed at making things a little easier for single parents and low-income families.”
Note that the market is completely wheelchair-accessible and pet-friendly, so everyone can get in on the holiday spirit. Even your furry, four-legged family members!
Guests can meet Santa and take a family picture for free as he roams the market or sits in his chalet.
The Shipyards Christmas Market kicks off on Nov. 28, 2025 and runs all the way up to Christmas Eve.
