Shawn Mendes confirms breakup with Camila Cabello after he’s spotted solo in Toronto

We did not see this coming. The pop star power couple everyone thought was going to make it, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, has decided to split. The two announced the breakup on social media on Wednesday evening with a joint statement.

Shawn and Camila, who have been practically inseparable since they were first rumoured to be dating back in June 2019, said that they’ve decided to end their romantic relationship, but their love for one another “as humans is stronger than ever.”

“We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward,” their note continued.

The announcement comes just a couple of weeks after the two showed off their adorable couple costume on Halloween, and not long after the two posed side by side at the Met Gala and paid a visit to Shawn’s Toronto hometown to spend time with their golden retriever Tarzan.

Shawn was spotted walking solo through the 6ix this past Monday, sans Camila and Tarzan. The star looked lost in thought as he strolled through the city wearing his AirPods and scarf with a coffee in hand.

Their breakup might come as a shock to fans, who have witnessed nothing but loving vibes between the two singers since day one. Shawn and Camila have even talked about getting engaged one day.

From the sounds of it, their decision is for the best, especially with Shawn’s world tour around the corner. But we’d be lying if we said we aren’t a little bit heartbroken anyway.
