There are free ‘secret cinema’ screenings in Seattle & movies are announced as they start

If you love movies, chances are you have a list of faves, and you head to the theatre to check out new ones regularly. But did you know there is a “secret cinema” screening that takes place in Seattle? They are free, and it could lead you to your next favorite film!

Taking place at The Beacon, this is Seattle’s premiere “blindfolded” screening series, according to the theatre.

It is totally free, no RSVP is required, and is filled on first come first serve. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime on each screening, and the film title is not announced until the seats are filled and the movieshow is about to commence.

Sounds like fun? We think so!

“Take the gamble of a chance encounter and discover the movie you didn’t know you needed,” states the theatre. “We aim to provide an enjoyably disorienting experience in which you can indulge your curiosities without any intimidating barriers to entry. And besides, we just think it’s sneaky and fun to keep sexy secrets. Don’t you?”

They add that movies will be from all over the world “spanning from the dawn of cinema to its far-flung future.”

“We’re giving you films that haven’t been played to death, proffering an alternative history of cinema, a celebration of the breadth and depth of film history, a pulsating motion picture party,” they add.
