Nothing like a holiday weekend to remember that summer is just around the corner. And to get us excited for the season, Seattle Parks and Recreation dropped their 2024 Summer Aquatics Hours this week, so let’s have a look at when our outdoor pools, beaches, and sprayparks open for the season!

First up, our outdoor pools. They are opening for preseason on weekends only starting Saturday, May 25th. Following that, the regular full-time season starts on Saturday, June 22nd.
Lowery C. “Pop” Mounger Pool: Located at 2535 32nd Ave. W, this pool will operate for the preseason on weekends only on May 25-27, June 1-2, June 8-9, and June 15-16 for drop in swimming including for playland, lap fitness, and recreational swimming, according to Parks and Recreation. They add that the pool will operate daily beginning on Saturday, June 22 through Monday, September 2 with a full schedule including swimming lessons.
Colman Pool: Located at 8603 Fauntleroy Way SW, Colman Pool will operate for the preseason on weekends only on May 25-27, June 1-2, June 8-9, and June 15-16 for drop in swimming including for playland, lap fitness, and recreational swimming. Similar to the Lowery C. pool, Coleman will operate daily beginning on Saturday, June 22 through Monday, September 2 with a full schedule including swimming lessons. The pool has a spectacular view of Puget Sound from its prime location on the beach in West Seattle’s Lincoln Park, and it features heated salt water!
The pre-season for Seattle beaches open on May 25th and will run until June 21st.
According to the City, the following beaches will be guarded daily from 2 PM -7 PM on weekdays, and 11 AM -7 PM on weekends and Holidays:

Seattle’s sprayparks are opening from May 25th until Labour Day. These are the best spots in the city to cool off with the kids. The city will operate 11 spray parks this summer, and they will be open from 11 am to 8 pm each day of the week.
