Seattle just ranked among the top 10 cities in America for 2024.
According to the ninth annual America’s Best Cities ranking by Resonance, its data is “lauded as the world’s most thorough annual city rankings, based on original methodology that analyzes key statistics, user-generated reviews, social media and online activity.”
They add that the “rankings quantify and benchmark the relative quality of place, reputation and competitive identity of U.S. metropolitan areas.”
“Resonance once again analyzed the principal cities of U.S. metropolitan statistical areas with populations of more than 500,000,” said Resonance President & CEO Chris Fair.
“Our goal in producing these reports is to create the most comprehensive and holistic approach to measuring and benchmarking both perception and performance of cities available.”

In its ranking this year, Seattle came in 9th place overall.
In its report, Resonance states that Seattle “boasts a growing population fueled by talent seeking (literally) greener pastures and pulled by the influential titans of industry in town, from Amazon to Starbucks to Zillow.”
It also adds that “talent benefits from all manner of livability here, from startup incubation to festivals to urban waterfront restoration.”
Besides mentioning the waterfront, the ranking touched on the Seattle Aquarium’s new Ocean Pavilion, opening this summer, with “an oculus window that allows passersby to observe sea life from below.”
“It links to the city’s iconic Pike Place Market that was recently expanded as well, with observation platforms and retail spaces. Expect the city’s Top 10 Walk Score and Biking rankings to increase as a result of this bold, human-level placemaking,” it concludes.
The America’s Best Cities rankings analyzes public perception, visitor expenditure, and/or business formation.
And based on each city’s performance for livability, lovability, and prosperity, these are America’s Top 10 Best Cities for 2024, according to the report:
