This snowshoeing experience in Ontario crosses a suspension bridge under the night sky

Scenic Caves Nordic Centre turns into an enchanting wonderland once the sun sets.

Located in the gorgeous Blue Mountains, this Ontario spot offers something truly magical during winter evenings.

From Dec. 28, 2024, until Mar. 15, 2025, you can book a guided snowshoeing experience that takes adventure-lovers through forest trails, to lookout points and across Southern Ontario’s longest Suspension Bridge, all under the night sky.

While you’re crossing the bridge you’ll also be treated to scenic views of Georgian Bay and Collingwood.

When and where can I find and book Scenic Caves Nordic Centre?

Guided night snowshoe hikes at Scenic Caves Nordic Centre run on Saturdays starting Dec. 28 at 6 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays in March until the 15th.

The experience is in the heart of The Blue Mountains, Ontario, about a two-hour drive from Toronto or the GTA.

Costing $59 per person, you can book a group of up to 12 people with a capacity of 25 people per tour. All guests are asked to arrive 20-30 minutes before departure and there is a minimum age of 10 years old to participate.

What to expect during Scenic Caves Nordic Centre snowshoeing

“Listen for sounds of local nocturnal wildlife as you’re guided along under a moonlit sky. On a clear night, explore constellations or wish upon a shooting star,” shares the experience’s website. Sounds pretty cool, right?

You’ll be provided with everything you need including knowledgeable guides, trail passes, snowshoes and headlamps.

Once you’ve finished your hike, the group can return to the lodge, relax by the fire pit and enjoy a hot beverage – a perfect way to end a truly special evening.

Do not forget to bundle up and dress as warmly as possible! I hope your snowy adventure is a blast, Ontario!
