Show of hands, who isn’t ready to let go of summer just yet? So it’s not just us? Perfect! That means we’re heading to a beach town along the shores of Lake Ontario. Wellington, Ontario is a true gem within Prince Edward County and serves as the perfect autumn getaway. Here’s why!
Located on the north shore of Lake Ontario in beautiful PEC, is the small yet wonderful town of Wellington, Ontario. It’s home to lovely small shops, local eateries, and places to spend the night.
The town is just a short drive from Sandbanks Provincial Park. Though that alone may convince you to make the trip – it’s the adventure within the town that makes it worth your while.
As previously mentioned, the town has a pristine beach complete with white sand.
Along the beach, lining the shoreline is a scenic boardwalk to a lighthouse, according to Discover Wellington.
It truly is the perfect fall escape.
Besides that outdoor adventure, you’ll also find enjoyment in sipping on award-winning wines, eating at fine dining establishments, visiting lively pubs and bars, browsing galleries and checking out the fascinating heritage museum.
And when you’re ready to call it a night, you can retreat to The Lakeside Motel or the Drake Devonshire.
There’s lots to do in the area that you simply can’t accomplish all in one day so a weekend getaway is a must.
It’s time to plan your next fall adventure.
