Sauble Beach is one of the most popular summer destinations in Ontario. But what if we told you that you could still enjoy the freshwater beach even in winter? Though you won’t be able to go for a swim, you can take part in thrilling winter activities along the shore and throughout the tourist town.

When winter hits the town of Sauble Beach, it transforms into a tranquil winter wonderland.

According to Explore The Bruce, there’s a handful of winter activities you can enjoy which include snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

“Imagine snowshoeing along the banks of the Rankin River, sipping hot apple cider at the end of your hike, and relaxing by the fire at sundown,” shares the tourist page. “It’s Canadian winter perfection.”

You can explore the forest trails too. Is cross-country skiing more your style? Trek along the groomed dedicated trails at the Sauble Beach Cross Country Ski Club. According to its Facebook page, the club has about 19 km of groomed ski trails and 14 km of snowshoe trails.

If you don’t have a pair of snowshoes or skis, there are a few rental services in the area, according to Explore The Bruce.

Check out Suntrail Source for Adventure in Hepworth, just a 10-minute drive away from Sauble Beach, to rent a pair.

Who knew Sauble Beach could also be a top spot for winter fun?

Looks like we know where we’re going once we’re all covered in snow.
