Populated by unusual plants, seals and birds this lonely island is located just off the coast of Halifax and is known for its sand and wild horses.

So what exactly does this job entail?

Well, as operations coordinator, you’ll be in charge of facilitating access to and from the island, meeting visitors upon arrival to share stories and brief them on precautionary measures.

In addition, the successful candidate will also serve as the island’s representative and will be expected to manage the remote site infrastructure and facilities, with the support of a skilled Maintenance Worker – so it’s a big job!

“Do you want to work in one of the most unique and exciting locations in Canada?” they write.

“Do you want to explore new challenges in your career, discover your full potential and help strengthen a world-class organization? Then become part of the team at Parks Canada, an internationally renowned agency dedicated to protecting Canada’s natural, historical and cultural treasures and presenting them for the world to appreciate and enjoy.”

Applicants will need to have graduated from a post-secondary institute with a technical diploma in architectural, building, construction, civil, electrical, mechanical or structural specialties to be considered and will be expected to live on the island in a shared accommodation – where your food will be supplied by Parks Canada!

Interested? This one-of-a-kind job on Sable Island pays between $63,720 and $77,523 and is only taking resumes until May 28th, 2023 at 12 am (PT), so hurry hard!

There’s no job quite like this one and you won’t want to miss your chance! Good luck and happy applying.
