This well-preserved ‘ghost town’ in Alberta has a funeral home, train station & grain elevators

Deserted settlements and abandoned vehicles. Canada has a ton of places where you’ll find beauty and charm in empty streets – but in Alberta, Rowley is one of the most interesting.

Located North of Drumheller, Rowley is a town frozen in time; well-preserved by the province and local volunteers.

Here, visitors will see several historic buildings including a garage, church, funeral home, bank, store, saloon, community hall and grain elevators – but it’s important to be respectful.

While it’s widely considered a ‘ghost town,’ a very small group of people still reside there, some of which have started hosting a monthly ‘pizza night‘ in which the public is encouraged to indulge in an effort to raise money for the site.

Held once a month, those interested can visit, eat and enjoy live music knowing that the proceeds will go towards repairs and maintenance for the various properties.

Want to explore deeper? In addition to this, they also offer interior tours in the summertime – but you’ll have to wait until they pick up again next year.

This fall, however, you can still check it out, get some fresh air and take pictures because this place is extremely photogenic.

Pose, wander and enjoy! There’s really no place like it!
