This warm-water lake surrounded by lush forest is an hour away from Vancouver

If you’re in search of a great day trip option from Vancouver, consider Rolley Lake Park in British Columbia, as it’s the perfect balance between embracing fall and holding onto those coveted summer vibes.

Known for its warm-water lake and accessible hiking opportunities, the provincial park is situated in Mission, which is just an hour’s drive from the city.

The predominantly flat wilderness park is the perfect destination for the whole family, as it’s far more accessible compared to other BC parks, and offers visitors the chance to wander through two short walking trails at their leisure.

Hiking info

The first is called Lakeside Loop, which takes approximately 40 minutes to complete and includes a scenic boardwalk. The walk to Rolley Falls is even shorter, just a 10-minute hike away.

As for Rolley Lake, visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, and canoeing during the warmer months, as well as lounging on its sandy beach.

A visit to the provincial park is also a great reason to check out the nearby Stave Falls, Hayward Lake, and Stave West Recreation Area, according to Tourism Mission.

So there you have it, Vancouver! If you’re looking for an accessible park that’s close to the city, this is a spot to add to your itinerary.
