Blue Jays fans are in for a treat come opening day 2023. The Rogers Centre is getting a $300 million privately funded renovation that will transform the stadium into an authentic ballpark.
The reno will focus on “modernizing the fan experience” and building “world-class” facilities for the players, says a press release from MLB.
Team president and CEO Mark Shapiro said that it “will give new and lifelong Blue Jays fans a ballpark where they can proudly cheer on their team.”
The team shared photos on social media of what the new ballpark will look like.

The work will be phased over two or three offseasons, meaning that the project may not be fully finished for a couple of years.
But, fans won’t have to wait too long to see the new ballpark come to life. By the time next year’s season opener rolls around, Rogers Centre will already look considerably different.
