The Riverwood Indigenous Social, Jingtamok is coming back this weekend in Mississauga and all are welcome to join in celebrating the culture.
This free event is available to all ages! On September 24, experience this cultural gathering through drumming, dancing, singing, teachings, crafts, and so much more.
According to The Riverwood Conservancy, “Jingtamok supports Indigenous communities’ access to and celebration of the land, builds openhearted relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, and supports the goals of truth and reconciliation by recognizing the contributions Indigenous peoples have made to the heritage of the region.”

The social gathering is organized by Indigenous community members and aided by staff and volunteers from The Riverwood Conservancy.
The event starts at 10:00 am with an opening prayer and a welcome from Elder from Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and runs until 4:00 pm with a round dance for everyone to partake.
It’s important to note that photography is not allowed unless you’re given permission.
