There’s a picturesque 300-foot suspension bridge in this Ontario Park

What better place to take in the changing colours of fall than from a 300-foot suspension bridge? Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge is open year-round and located in beautiful Campbellford, Ont. The bridge not only boasts breathtaking views, but crossing the bridge will also gain you access to the trail system located inside Ferris Provincial Park.

The bridge spans 300 feet and hovers 30′ above the Ranney Gorge just south of the falls in the park. It took around two years to complete the project, with the ground for the project taking off on Sept. 3, 2002, and the grand opening on June 23, 2004.

The reasoning behind the suspension bridge spanning the gorge came as “a way to improve viability and enhance Ferris Park,” writes the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge.

It’s also the only pedestrian bridge of its kind in Ontario!

Getting there

To find the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge, you’ll need to make your way to Campbellford, about two hours by car from Toronto.

Guests have to enter through Ferris Provincial Park, which means you’ll need to grab a day pass for the park. Day passes start at $12.25.

Be sure to check out the other trails at the park once you’ve crossed the bridge! A full list of the hikes in Ferris can be found online.

Time to take things to new heights (literally), Ontario!
