Here’s how to sign Canada’s condolence book for Queen Elizabeth II

Britain’s longest-reigning monarch Queen Elizabeth II has passed away at 96 years old, and people around the world are paying tribute to her life and legacy.

The Queen presided over the Commonwealth and served as Canada’s Head of State throughout the entirety of her 70-year reign.

Her Majesty had a profound history with Canada and visited its major cities many times over the years.

Many Canadian landmarks are named after her and we see her familiar face often on our $20 bills.

To pay our respects to the late Queen, a national book of condolences for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been created by the Government of Canada.

You can leave a short message with your name and province online here and your message will be posted for all to read. The book already has well over 5,000 messages as of Friday morning.

You can also sign the book of condolences in person. Condolence books are made available to Canadians in every province and territory.

In Toronto, the book is available to sign at City Hall and the City’s Civic Centre.

Canadians can also extend their condolences privately by sending an email or a letter to the Department of Canadian Heritage at the address listed here.

From the many messages submitted by Canadians so far, it’s clear that Her Majesty will always be remembered and cherished, both across the pond and worldwide.
