Summer markets, be they farmers markets or cultural fairs, are some of the highlights of Vancouver summers, and Portobello West is hosting two free-to-enter markets at VanDusen that plant lovers won’t want to miss.
With 7,500 plant species originating from around the globe, the 55-acre VanDusen Botanical Garden is the perfect place to enjoy local art while surrounded by breathtaking nature.
For two days this summer, VanDusen visitors can check out their classic Portobello West Makers Market, which will bring together 39 top-notch B.C. artists, designers, and producers, allowing them to get the inside scoop on their creative processes.
Vendors include jewelry makers, home decor, skincare, and much more, according to an Instagram post.
Ready to check it out? Mark your calendars for either Saturday, June 28 or Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025.
Both markets will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on their respective dates at the Floral Hall next to the visitor centre. Once you’ve perused the market to your heart’s content, you’re just steps away (and a $15 admission fee) from the acres of summer blooms in the garden.
When: Saturday, June 28 and Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 5251 Oak St.
Cost: Free admission
