Porter Airlines is opening a new Vancouver base & will be hiring for 100 jobs

Great news, travel enthusiasts. Porter Airlines is adding three new crew bases across Canada and will be hiring hundreds of crew members in the coming months. So if you’re looking for a new job opportunity that gets you in the sky, stay tuned for some of the roles available at the new Vancouver base.

Over the course of this year, the Canadian Airline will be looking to hire over 350 pilots and flight attendants at Ottawa International Airport, Montreal-Trudeau International Airport, and Vancouver International Airport.

In Vancouver, there will be around 100 crew positions to fill beginning in July, when more info on Porter’s career opportunities is released on its website.

Note that open positions will be filled in phases, including for internal job applicants.

“These new bases will provide significant opportunities for crew who want to live close to where they work,” says Kent Woodside, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Porter Airlines. “Local crew can better support Porter’s commitment to operational reliability and ultimately provide an even more elevated level of service for our passengers.”

Porter Airlines currently employs around 650 pilots and 775 cabin crew operating from an Embraer E195-E2 crew base at Toronto-Pearson, as well as Dash 8-400 crew bases at Toronto-City, Ottawa, Halifax and Thunder Bay. By the end of the year, there will be approximately 2000 total crew members!

While there are no open jobs in Vancouver as of now, there are over 60 at other base locations across the country.

This summer, Porter will begin to operate 14 nonstop routes from Ottawa, six from Montreal, and three from Vancouver, so stay tuned for more opportunities as they become available.
