This Canadian airline will be flying from Vancouver soon & tickets start at $114

If you’re looking to travel early next year, we’ve got some good news for you. Starting February 2023, Vancouverites can travel to Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal via Porter Airlines on their new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. And to sweeten the pot, the airline is introducing new options as part of their “elevated economy experience.” Let’s get into it.

New routes

Porter Airlines will launch three new routes between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR), Ottawa International Airport (YOW), and Montreal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL). Service will begin in early February with multiple daily, non-stop flights, increasing over time for added flexibility.

Daily flights from Pearson to Vancouver will begin on February 7th, growing to three flights a day in March, according to their website. Right now, one-way flights to Toronto start at $114.

“Porter is an airline distinguished by its levels of service, care, and charm,” says Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation. “The economics, comfort, low emissions, and quietness of the E2 will deliver an amazing experience for Porter and their guests.”

New fares & amenities

As for amenities, here is what passengers can expect on their flights:

  • Complimentary beer and wine
  • Selection of premium snacks
  • Free, fast WiFi
  • Optional fresh-made meals on longer flights

The airline will also expand its product offerings with six fares for travellers to choose from starting February 1st. This includes routes on the E2 as well as the Dash 8-400 aircraft.

Porter is also the only airline with no middle seats – and that goes for their existing fleets as well. In fact, the E2 happens to be the most environmentally-friendly single-aisle aircraft, at 65% quieter and up to 25% cleaner than previous-generation technology, according to the release.

And since there are 100 E2s currently on their way, Porter Airlines, which has been popular with east coast travellers for years now, will surely be adding additional routes rather frequently.

So stay tuned, travellers, and start booking your flights on the airline’s website.
