The PNE is hiring for over 200 summer jobs with some fun perks

Looking for some fun jobs to apply for in Vancouver this summer? The PNE is currently hiring over 200 people to work at Vancouver’s popular Playland amusement park.

According to PNE’s website, seasonal Playland jobs are typically posted in March and the first round of successful applicants are invited for interviews from March to April. So if working at Playland sounds like a blast, you’ll want to apply sooner rather than later!

Currently, they’re looking to fill positions on their Games, Rides, Guest Experience, Playland Maintenance, and Food & Beverage teams.

This includes the following summer jobs:

  • Candy/Concessions Attendant
  • Candy Runner
  • Concessions Cook
  • Games Attendant
  • Guest Experience Attendant
  • Grounds Maintenance Attendant
  • Playland BBQ Attendant
  • Playland BBQ Grill Cook
  • Playland BBQ Runner
  • Playland Busser
  • Rides Attendant

Note that successful applicants for the above positions must be aged 15 to 16 years old by April 1st, 2024.

Summer jobs

Seasonal roles start at $18.43 an hour (up from $17.60 last year), but it’s the perks that make these worthwhile. Seasonal employees can enjoy discounts on passes to Playland, The Fair, and Fright Nights, as well as all the PNE food stands.

Oh, and a completely free evening at Playland during Employee Family Night!

Employees also get access to free parking and gift card rewards, as well as career growth opportunities and promotions.

Training & requirements

If you’re considering applying to work at Playland, you must be available at least 3 to 4 days per week (including evenings & weekends) from May 18th to September 2nd (mandatory training date on Saturday, May 11th).

Note that employees hired for the Playland season will also be required to work on select dates in October for the Fright Nights season.
