Here are 5 pink places you need to visit in Vancouver if you love the ‘Barbie’ movie

If you’re just as intrigued (nay, obsessed) with the new Barbie movie as we are, we’ve got a fun daytime adventure to toss your way. Why not dress up in something pink or 2000s-themed and head to one of these bright, pink-clad places in Vancouver? From outdoor murals to iconic buildings and restaurants, here are 5 spots you need to visit in Vancouver if pink is your favourite colour.

Hotel Belmont

If you’re looking for one of the most iconic pink buildings in Vancouver, Hotel Belmont definitely takes the cake. The staple pink exterior with black trimming around the windows is probably the most aesthetic option you’ll get when you’re standing in line anywhere on Granville.

Plus, their newly-revamped Living Room and Basement bars feature an all-new seasonal menu as of late June, in addition to a fresh redesign that takes the space to an even higher state of luxury. Come for the pink vibes, and stay for the handcrafted cocktails, decadent dishes, and high-end DJ nights.

Where: 654 Nelson Street

Fun Alley – Lower Lonsdale

As the name suggests, Fun Alley is a vibrant space with plenty of pink going on, courtesy of the work of young artists in North Van. It’s definitely worth stopping by on your next visit to Lonsdale for a pop of colour!

Where: Located on West 1st Street between Lift and Buddha-Full

La Casa Gelato

Luckily for ice cream enthusiasts, La Casa Gelato is housed in an iconic pink building with even more pink inside – and they’ve got 238 flavours of ice-cold gelato to help keep you cool in the process.

The gelato shop is open seven days a week from 1 pm to 10 pm.

Where: 1033 Venables Street

Kokomo – Kitsilano

Kokomo’s iconic Kits location stands as a true testament to the power of pastel pink. The inviting shade, in addition to the “summer is a state of mind” graphic, offers diners the perfect spot for an Insta-worthy moment following a hearty plant-based meal.

Where: 2028 Vine Street

Alley-Oop

For those who don’t know, the City of Vancouver has two reimagined alleyways-turned-public laneways: Alley-Oop and Ackery’s Alley – both of which are located downtown. The former (located on Granville and West Hastings) features murals lining both sides of the lane, with the intent of transforming a once dark, drab alley into a colourful, inviting space. Bold pinks and yellows dominate – making this the perfect option for a quick stroll and photo-op.

Where: Located on West Hastings Street, bounded by Granville and Seymour Street

So there you have it, Vancouver! If you’re in need of a little pink to brighten your mood, you won’t have to look far.
