According to PetSmart Charities of Canada, it has “challenged each PetSmart Canada store and their local shelter/rescue partners to find new homes for 25 pets,” and partnered with Hill’s Pet Nutrition for National Adoption Week this year.

National Adoption Week will run from Monday, March 18th – Sunday, March 24th,

“For 25 years, PetSmart Charities of Canada and local partners have been helping pets pick people to love,” said Heidi Marston, director of pet placement at PetSmart Charities of Canada.

“Shelters across the country are full, and pets of all ages, breeds and temperaments are looking for their families.”

Here’s how to event works.

During PetSmart Charities of Canada National Adoption Week, potential pet parents will have the chance to interact with adoptable pets from local shelters, including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, and small pets at PetSmart stores across the country.

Staff and volunteers will also be on site to help educate potential adopters on any of the pets they may be interested in and they care they will require.

If you’re not sure where your nearest PetSmart location is you can check here.

National Adoption Week is the perfect way to see if a new furry friend is right for you. Head to your local PetSmart and good luck, Canada!
