Look up Canada! This weekend, we have a front-row seat to one of our solar system’s most incredible events – the Perseids Meteor Shower.
Showcasing up to 100 ‘shooting stars’ per hour, this stunning phenomenon will come to a head this weekend August 12th to 13th, but will be visible until August 24th as long as the sky is clear and you’re away from bright lights.

Though we did not see a whole lot right as the Earth first enters the field of debris left by Comet Swift-Tuttle, Perseids build to be one of the year’s biggest and “best” meteor showers of the year, according to NASA.
These comet fragments will be bright, large, fast, and incredibly impressive – so massage that neck and rub those eyes.
You’re going to want to point those peepers north as often as you can when it really gets going!
As always, the most incredible place to view these magnificent fireballs will be as far out of the city as you’re comfortable driving, away from the light pollution of a big city.
Of course, because it is summer and the days are longer, you likely won’t be able to see anything until the sun goes down, so bring snacks and blankets if it’s a chilly one!
Believe us when we say that sky gazers and date idea seekers alike will not want to miss it! After all, it is “the best meteor shower of the year.”
