Parks Canada is hiring for thousands of student summer jobs right now

In this economy, it’s never too early to start looking for a summer job. Parks Canada is gearing up to begin hiring students for the summer of 2025, and applying will take no more than 15 minutes.

Have you dreamed of spending the warm months among national parks, historic sites, or marine conservation areas? Have a passion for the outdoors? This could be the gig for you. Every year, Parks Canada hires over 3,000 students and temporary workers, meaning there are plenty of opportunities waiting for you.

How to apply to Parks Canada

Get the ball rolling by first creating an account with Parks Canada. Once you’ve signed up, you will be able to access the application for the summer 2025 jobs.

The application will ask you a handful of questions including where you live, your language proficiency and education.

The best part is that you get a selection of options when it comes to which park you’re interested in working at. The application will ask you your 10 preferred work locations and the options may be hard to narrow down. You can select anywhere from parks along the shores of Newfoundland or among the mountains in British Columbia.

You will also be asked what your preferred 10 job types are, including:

  • Engineering

  • Event planning
  • Finance and accounting

As for compensation, the rates range from around $16.84 and $24 per hour.

According to Parks Canada, the perks are pretty sweet, too. The organization states that “employees enjoy a healthy work-life balance, including flexible work arrangements at many locations, the opportunity to work in some of the most stunning natural environments in the country,” and the chance to advance to future roles with Parks Canada.

Don’t wait, as the deadline for applications is March 1, 2025.

Oh, did I mention that Parks Canada is recognized as one of Canada’s Best Employers by Forbes? Pretty sweet.

Good luck and happy applying, Canada!
