Ontario’s top baby names were revealed & here’s what topped the list

If your name is Noah or Olivia, you’re more popular than you may think!

Ontario has released its top baby names for 2022 – with Noah and Olivia topping the charts yet again.

Here’s the list of the top 10 baby names for girls and boys.

Girls

  1.  Olivia
  2.  Charlotte
  3.  Amelia
  4.  Emma
  5.  Sophia
  6.  Ava

  9.  Lily
  10.  Mia

Boys

  1. Noah
  2.  Liam
  3.  Oliver
  4.  Theodore
  5.  Jack
  6.  Benjamin
  7.  Lucas
  8.  William
  9.  Ethan
  10.  Leo

The name Olivia hasn’t strayed from its reign in popularity holding the top spot for girls for over a decade, with 14 consecutive years at number 1!

And on the boy’s list of names Noah is in the number 1 name for the fourth year in a row, with Liam following behind as the second-most popular name. Theodore has been on the rise moving up two spots on the list.

Along with the annual list, Service Ontario reminds parents about the importance of registering their child’s birth within 30 days of welcoming their newborn.

“With our easy to use 5-in-1 Newborn Bundle, Ontario parents can register their newborn baby online from the comfort of their own homes”, said Todd McCarthy, Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery. “Our government continues to make life easier for new parents by saving them more time to enjoy those precious moments with their newborns.”
