This Ontario park has a spectacular lookout over falls & a scenic suspension bridge

Your next spring adventure is here! Ontario is home to a number of suspension bridges but if there’s one you have to add to your bucket list, it is this pedestrian bridge within Ferris Provincial Park. The Ontario park opens for the season this weekend and here’s what to know.

Mark your calendars for May 10th, 2024 as Ferris Provincial Park opens for the season, welcoming nature enthusiasts to its park grounds for spring.

Though the park itself is a wonderful outdoor experience through its hiking trails, its highlight is the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge that soars across 300 feet, above a waterfall.

The bridge overlooks the Trent River Gorge and offers gorgeous views of the surrounding landscape of Trent Hills.

The park boasts over 10 kilometers of well-maintained trails along the river and through its forests.

To get to the bridge, you’ll have to embark along a hiking trail. According to Ontario Parks, the 3.5 km long River Gorge Trail offers “magnificent views of the Trent River gorge from the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge.”

Other activities you can enjoy include biking, mountain biking trails, fishing, and canoeing through the gorge.

If you’re looking for a scenic escape from the busy city life that is Toronto, Ferris Provincial Park is the place to go for amazing views.

And suspension bridge adventures, too!
