You can rent cozy fire pits & make s’mores by the lake in Toronto

You don’t have to trek to a cottage or campsite to bask in the glow of an open fire under a starry night sky. In fact, you don’t even have to leave downtown Toronto. Ontario Place has fire pits you can book for an outdoorsy evening with your favourite people.

The three fire pit locations are right on the lake. Two are located on the southern part of East Island with seating on Muskoka Chairs, and one is located within Trillium Park with seating on large rocks.

You can invite up to 24 guests to hang at the fire pit with you during your reserved time slot. You’ll also have to bring your own wood and cannot collect foliage or wood products from the Ontario Place grounds.

Additional folding chairs and low-level music are permitted, but you won’t be allowed to bring sound systems, amplified sound, tents, tables, or structures.

No alcohol is permitted but you’re welcome to bring some marshmallows and s’mores supplies. You can also choose to purchase a Firewood Package or S’mores Package through the nearby Hotel X, which you can tack on to your fire pit reservation.

Booking your fire pit is easy. Select your preferred site, date, and time through the Ontario Place online system. Complete the form and pay a fee of  $44.25+HST, and then wait for confirmation in your inbox.

You’ll also receive a follow-up email with directions and parking information. If the weather is not ideal, you will have the option to reschedule your visit or be reimbursed.

For all the details about the fire pits and to book yours, you can head to the Ontario Place website. Enjoy it, friends!
