The LCBO has extended hours across Ontario this week

Time to stock up! LCBO locations across Ontario will be open much longer with extended hours this week until July 4th. Here’s what to know.

The LCBO has extended its store hours across Ontario as of June 27th to July 4th. According to the liquor board, collective bargaining is currently underway between the liquor board and OPSEU, and a legal strike position is set to commence as of 12:01 AM on July 5th, 2024.

“While LCBO’s focus remains on achieving a deal that is fair to bargaining unit employees and helps the LCBO continue to operate effectively and efficiently for Ontario in a new marketplace, we are confident in our plan that will allow LCBO to continue serving our customers at this time,” shares the LCBO.

“We offer the following guidance for shopping prior to July 4 to help prepare for the potential disruption to the retail customer experience.”

All stores will open early at 9:30 AM and most will stay open until 10 PM.

In anticipation of the looming strike, you may want to stock up on your necessities until otherwise stated.

According to the LCBO, it would continue to receive and fulfil wholesale orders and beverage alcohol will remain available through the approximately 2,300 private retail points of sale across the province.

That includes LCBO Convenience Outlets, licensed grocery stores, The Beer Store, and winery, brewery, cidery, and distillery outlets, bars and restaurants. LCBO Specialty Services and Duty-Free will also remain operational.

If there is a strike, on July 19th, after the 14 days, 30 LCBO retail stores will begin to open for in-store shopping and operate three days a week. That means Friday to Sunday, limited hours will be in effect.

But for now, take advantage of the late hours and stock up for the summer – if needed!
