Just because the weather’s getting colder doesn’t mean you have to stay indoors. In fact winter in the PNW is one of the best seasons to get out and about in our National Parks. Especially because Olympic National Park just ranked among the best in the nation.
Travel Lens looked at park entrance fees, recreational visitor numbers, the distance to the closest city, and TripAdvisor reviews to determine awards for each park. The overall score was out of 10 revealing both the best National Parks and which parks are the most popular.

Olympic National Park received an overall 7.75 out of 10 score. The park is 1.8 miles away from the nearest city of Port Angeles and 45% of its reviews mentioned the word “beautiful.” The data also revealed that the park had 2.7 million recreational visitors in 2021.
If you’re looking to do some winter hiking or even skiing, the Olympics are a great place to go. Keep in mind there is a $15 fee to enter the park. Enjoy!
