A mesmerizing Northern Lights display could dance over Vancouver this week

Due to “high” aurora activity, the dazzling Northern Lights may be visible in Vancouver on Thursday, November 28th. So let’s keep our fingers crossed that the skies remain clear enough to watch them dance!

When to see the Northern Lights

According to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, “high(+) aurora activity” is forecasted for Thursday, November 28th.

“If skies are clear, highly active auroral displays may be visible overhead from locations such as Inuvik, Yellowknife, Rankin and Iqaluit, Canada, to Vancouver, Helena, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Bay City, Toronto and Montpelier, U.S.A., and Charlottetown, Canada; and may be visible low on the horizon from Salem, Boise, Cheyenne, Lincoln, Indianapolis and Annapolis, U.S.A.,” shares the site.

The Kp index will be at its highest of 6 from 7 pm to 10 pm tonight, and will remain at a moderate level (Kp: 4) until 4 am.

The moderate storm is forecasted to continue into Friday, November 29th, with a slightly lower Kp level than Thursday.

Weather forecast & viewing
