Stampede season is back in full swing, and CF Chinook Centre is getting in on all the action with a free celebration packed with live music, food, western-inspired activities, and plenty of family-friendly fun.
At the event, you’ll find pancakes flipping, live music playing, and enough western energy to convince you that it’s okay to wear fringe on a weekday.
So if you’ve been looking for a more relaxed, accessible way to take part in the Stampede festivities, CF Chinook Centre’s celebration offers a little bit of everything, all without the chaos of the grounds or the stress of losing your friends in a crowd of 5,000 people.
Now let’s take a further look at what’s happening during the event.
According to CF Chinook Centre, the celebration will kick off with the 66th Annual CF Stampede Breakfast in the East Parking lot, where you can enjoy complimentary pancakes, sausages, and coffee to fuel up for a full day of festivities.
Inside the mall, at Zara Court, visitors can experience the Western Lounge, where they can catch acoustic performances, line dancing, and crafts.
From there, the celebration will continue on the Main Stage, featuring live country music performances by Canadian artists including Chris Buck Band and The Heels.
Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the Community Fair and Retailer Market, where local organizations and CF retailers come together to showcase their offerings across Calgary.
For younger visitors, there will be a Kiddie Corral, which offers a full western-themed play zone with pony cycles, inflatable games, photo opportunities, and interactive activities like ring toss and shootout challenges.
The CF Stampede celebration will take place on Saturday, July 4, at 7 a.m., with additional programming running throughout the day. All activities are free to attend, making it a little easier on your wallet.
And if you can’t make it to the CF Chinook Centre celebrations, CF Market Mall in northwest Calgary is also hosting its own Stampede-themed celebrations on Tuesday, July 7, and will start at 9 a.m.
So if Stampede this year feels a little too intense, but you still want to say you participated, this is your moment. At this event, you can skip the crazy crowds, enjoy good food, listen to live music, and still get the full Stamped experience.
Now all that’s left to do is grab your friends, throw on your cowboy hat, and soak up the season before it slips by!
