This Ontario park near Toronto has two unique beach experiences

Forget traveling down south this summer, it’s time to explore the beautiful shores of Lake Ontario. If you’re looking for a fun beach experience that isn’t Wasaga Beach or Sandbanks, check out North Beach Provincial Park. With two unique beach experiences, it’s never a dull moment. Here’s what to know about this Ontario park.

Situated two hours east of Toronto is North Beach Provincial Park. If you’ve ever been to Picton Beach aka Sandbanks Provincial Park, you may have driven past this hidden gem.

According to the provincial park, it is a “beautiful sandbar” that is found on Lake Ontario and North Bay.

It’s a lesser-known beach therefore if you’re looking for a more peaceful experience, this is the place to be.

While exploring, visitors have the chance to go bird watching and maybe catch a glimpse of hawks, Saw-whet Owls, and Turkey Vultures.

Hit up the lake with your motorboat, canoe, or sailboat and even go fishing. Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, perch, and sunfish are typically found here.

As for the double beaches found here, North Beach has a sandy beach facing Lake Ontario which is slightly larger than the other sandy beach on North Bay.

It’s the perfect spot to kick back and relax as the lake breeze cools you off from the summer sun. Since North Beach is a day-use-only park, it’s also a great idea to enjoy a picnic.

Luckily for you, there are picnic tables and washrooms located along the beach.

Fee

According to Ontario Parks, the cost of a Day Use permit depends on the time of the year whether it be on or off-season, and by park. As for North Beach Provincial Park, the Daily Vehicle Permit is priced at $21 after tax.

It is now open until October 1, 2023.
