Nordstrom Canada could start its liquidation sale this week

Nordstrom Canada recently announced that it will close all of its stores nationwide in the coming months. However, before we say goodbye to the retailer for good, it looks like we will get to take advantage of some good deals.

According to its Canadian website, Nordstrom says that it intends to host a liquidation sale but is awaiting Court approval to do so. The hearing for this approval will be held “on or about” Monday, March 20th.

If approval is given, the sale will begin shortly afterward. The liquidation process will continue until late June 2023, so you will have quite some time to get to your nearest Nordstrom for some discount shopping.

Nordstrom currently has 2,500 employees and 13 stores in total, including Nordstrom Rack locations.

In Canada, Nordstrom operates six main stores and seven Rack stores across the country.

“Despite our best efforts, we do not see a realistic path to profitability for the Canadian business,” said Erik Nordstrom in a recent statement about the closure.

Canadian shoppers will likely already see some big discounts being offered on last season’s goods.

However, you will have to visit a store in-person to find deals because Nordstrom has shut down its Canadian e-commerce website.
