Hello 2024: Edmonton is getting two dazzling firework shows to ring in the new year

It’s on! The countdown to 2024 has begun and this year is going to be explosive!

Not only will you be able to attend a huge celebration in the ICE District, but the city has announced when and where they will be setting off their own massive New Year’s Eve firework show in Edmonton.

Expected to delight and excite, this year’s programming will begin with an early display for children and families, then will feature another at midnight for the night owls.

For 12 incredible minutes, look up and enjoy a colourful experience as well as the surrounding sounds of a very busy Winston Churchill Square and City Plaza – but don’t get there too late!

Not only will there be fireworks there will also be performances by Martin Kerr, Dahlia and The Villains, Curt Sipihoko Paskwawimostos, and Métis fiddler Darla Daniels.

In addition, guests can enjoy fire performances by FloWarrior, roving jugglers, acrobatics, and carolers, as well as DJ Busyrawk, who will blast hits while you take a spin on their ice rink.

If of course, you get chilly, warm up near a fire pit or grab a bite to eat at L’Espresso Organic Café or one of their on-site food trucks, including Soner Donair, Tiramisu Bistro, Canadian Kettle Corn, and Canadian Maple Shack – who will actually be giving the first 1,000 people in line a free maple stick.

Ready to rock? For information on road closures and the complete transit schedule for December 31st, you can visit the city’s official website below.

It’s going to be a fantastic night so don’t miss it!
