New shipping container boutiques are popping up in The Distillery District right now

There’s a lot more to do in Toronto’s Distillery Historic District than dining at El Catrin and posing by the love locks. The scenic district now has a row of shipping containers occupied by all kinds of unique retailers. The pop-up shops are located in Trinity Square and are now open for you to check out.

YK Marketta, a Greek-influenced food and gift market, opened up in late July along with Tartistry, a bakeshop specializing in delicious gluten-free and keto treats.

Several more pop-up boutiques held their openings this past weekend, including eco clothing brand Liberty Clothing, artisan lifestyle boutique Brika, and a pop-up Roots store.

Brand new permanent storefronts have opened up at the Distillery District as well, with several more to come this summer and fall. Scooped by Demetres is the district’s new spot for artisanal ice cream and FIKA Herbal Goods is the Distillery’s first-ever cannabis store.

Opening in late August is Grace Loves Lace, a bridal boutique selling handcrafted gowns, and a new spot for fine spirits and bites called SpiritHouse Toronto. Peace Collective will open up its flagship store in Distillery in September, around the time that all the plans for this year’s Christmas Market will be announced.

The Distillery District told Curiocity that the iconic Christmas tree in Trinity Square has already been ordered for this year’s event, which is set to run from November 18th to December 31st.
