Known for its numerous beaches and picturesque fall foliage, Naramata, B.C., is a lakeside community in the Okanagan that’s perfect for watching the seasons turn. So let’s dive into all that makes this spot the ideal autumn destination!
From the sun-drenched Kettle Valley Rail Trail to the Three Blind Mice Trails, there are tons of scenic hiking opportunities here.
Overnight visitors can book their stay at one of the mission-style rooms at the Naramata Inn, which has been around for over a century. Considered the “heart of Naramata” since 1908, the historic stay has transformed into a 12-room boutique hotel with an award-winning restaurant and wine bar.
For one, the Naramata Creek Park trail follows a creek up through a river canyon to a cascading waterfall, which is surrounded by gorgeous fall colours.
In total, the hike is around 2.4 km roundtrip, taking about an hour to complete. Hikers will pass towering rock slabs, trees, and a trickling creek, according to Discover Naramata.
For something a little more akin to a stroll, head to Wharf Park for prime sunset viewing, or plunge off the old train docks into the beautiful waters of Okanagan Lake.
Naramata truly has weekend escape written all over it. So we say, if you have the urge to hop in the car and go on a road trip, add this vibrant spot to your map!
How to get there: Five-hour drive from Vancouver or one hour from Kelowna.
