Small-town charm and a flair for the theatrical! Nanton, Alberta is a town so charming that even Hollywood has taken notice.
Located less than 20 minutes south of High River, this idyllic destination was once a quiet village but grew quickly.
According to their website, the Village of Nanton was incorporated in 1903, then once again, as the town we’ve come to know, in 1907.
Here, you’ll find historic buildings and familiar streets – some of which have been featured in some major productions.
Not only can you retrace Joel and Ellie’s steps from HBO’s ‘The Last of Us,’ but those who visit Nanton can also enjoy knowing that the area played a role in Christopher Nolan’s Academy Award-winning film ‘Interstellar’.

In addition to shops and restaurants, visitors can check out quirky attractions like the Museum of Miniatures and the informative Bomber Command Museum.
