Ever dreamt of laying in a peaceful field surrounded by tulips, all while watching your favourite movie? Maybe too specific but it truly does sound like a dream. Thankfully it isn’t! Movies in the Park returns to Ontario and it’s your a chance to enjoy free outdoor movies among rows of colourful blooming flowers.
As part of the Canadian Tulip Festival, the special outdoor movie series will take place from May 10th to May 20th, at Commissioners Park at Dow’s Lake in Ottawa.
Over 300,000 tulips will bloom along Ottawa’s Rideau Canal and it’s free to enjoy, along with the flicks.
According to Ottawa Tourism, this is your chance to embrace the beauty of hundreds of thousands of bright and colourful tulips thanks to the Dutch government.

Though there are several activities you can take part in during the festival, it does come at an extra cost.
But as for the movies, all you’ll need is a blanket, lawn chair or something comfortable to sit on – and bring some snacks too, why not.
If you forget, don’t worry! There will be Food Trucks open from 10 AM to 9 PM with festival favourites like popcorn, fudge and beavertails.
According to organizers, the family-friendly movies in the park are available at 2 PM PM and 7 PM daily, weather permitting.
And per the line up, there are a few concert movies on schedule too.
