The Moulin Rouge windmill has a secret room & you can stay in it

A trip to Paris wasn’t in our schedule this summer, but we might just have to make it work. Turns out that the Moulin Rouge has got a hidden room in the windmill, and what’s more, it’s been transformed into a place you can actually sleep in! Here’s the scoop on this very rare opportunity.

You may have already guessed, but this is the latest unique stay option to come from the folks at Airbnb. For over a year now, the company has been finding iconic and extremely rare places, and giving a lucky few the opportunity to actually stay in them.

The Moulin Rouge option is a similar setup. This is the first time ever that the ‘secret room’ in the building’s window has been opened up to the public. And to celebrate, Airbnb has given it a complete ‘Belle Epoque’ makeover, to really dive in to the late 19th century vibes.

In addition to the gorgeous room, the lucky few who get to stay here will be treated to backstage access to the theatre, a traditional three-course French meal, and the best seats in the house to Mouline Rouge’s acclaimed ‘Féerie’ show. The cherry on top? Your host will be Claudine Van Den Bergh, who is currently the lead dancer at the company.

Just like previous opportunities, these stays will be cheap as chips as well- priced at a mere €1 per night for two guests. There are a couple of requirements for hopeful visitors though- including a history of positive reviews, a verified Airbnb profile, and a full message explaining why you want to stay there and who you might bring with you.

The windmill at the Moulin Rouge will be available for June 13th, 20th and 27th. You can request to book the room starting on May 17th, so keep this in mind if you’re looking for a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience!
