The best ways to celebrate Mother’s Day in Calgary this year

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and if you’re in Calgary and just realized you need to start figuring out plans, don’t worry, you’ve still got some time to figure it out.

Luckily, you don’t have to stick to the usual brunch reservation, and flowers come this year. Calgary has a ton of amazing events going on that feel a bit more thoughtful without being too stressful to plan.

So with that, let’s get into some of our favourite Mother’s Day events happening around Calgary this year.

Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Palliser

If you’re looking to start Mother’s Day off on a more elevated note, afternoon tea at the Fairmont Palliser is a classic for a reason. It’s the full experience, with delicate finger sandwiches, fresh scones, and pastries, all paired with its signature teas or a glass of bubbles if you want to feel a little extra special.

Puppy Yoga

This one’s for all the animal-loving moms out there! Puppy Yoga is an amazing way to get in your daily movement while soaking up all the puppy cuddles. The class itself is quite relaxed, and the puppies running around make it feel a lot more playful than your typical yoga session.

Mother’s Day at the Confluence

If you’re not trying to overthink your Mother’s Day plans but still want something cute and thoughtful, this is a really great option. Mother’s Day at The Confluence combines a picnic-style lunch with a guided walking tour and little things like crafts and scavenger hunts to keep things entertaining.

Mother’s Day Paint Night

Let your mom unleash her creative side at this Mother’s Day event. This guided paint class provides everything you need, from materials to step-by-step instructions, so you and your mom can focus on having fun and creating something you can take home at the end of the night.

Mother’s Day does not have to be a big production to feel meaningful.
