Mississauga’s getting a massive ‘festival of cultures’ with food from around the world

A “Festival of Cultures” is coming to Mississauga next month, taking the title of the largest multicultural fest in the country. Get ready to enjoy delicious cuisines from around the world!

The Carassauga fest kicks off on May 26th, bringing the exciting flavours, sounds and culture of over 20 different countries.

But this isn’t any ordinary festival! If you are familiar with the annual event, then you’ll know it takes part in various cultural and recreation centres in Mississauga.

Attendees will be able to “travel the world” with free transportation on All MiWay buses and Carassauga shuttle buses that connect to all locations.

The opening celebration begins at 7 PM at the Portuguese Cultural Centre of Mississauga where you can see the Parade of Nations showcase.

As for the countries featured during the event, here’s a breakdown of what to expect:

The Frank McKechnie Community Centre will feature Armenia; the Canadian Coptic Centre will feature Egypt; the Portuguese Cultural Centre of Mississauga will feature Portugal; and the St. Sava Serbian Centre will feature Serbia.

Carassauga admission passports are on sale online and if you happen to miss the May 25th cut-off date, you may also purchase a passport in person at select locations.

The passport permits holders to ride the MiWay for free on the festival route and unlimited visits to all the Cultural Pavilions.
