Here’s when Metro Vancouver’s tallest Christmas tree will light up this year

For many, the start of November officially marks the beginning of the holiday season. Or at the very least, the anticipation leading up to it. Across Canada, Cadillac Fairview (CF) is celebrating with immersive decor, light shows, and tree lightings, and CF Richmond Centre will debut the tallest Christmas tree in Metro Vancouver.

So get ready to gather with your loved ones to celebrate the most enchanting time of year, and watch the whopping 78-foot tree light up with holiday cheer.

“The holidays are a cherished time for connection, and at CF, we are dedicated to crafting meaningful moments where families and friends can come together and enjoy the true magic of the season,” says Andrea Nickel, senior director of experience, design and delivery at Cadillac Fairview. “For those all over Metro Vancouver, our centres provide extraordinary holiday experiences that create lasting memories for the whole family.”

Daily light and music shows

This year, the tree lighting ceremony will take place on Nov. 20, 2025, kicking off CF’s series of holiday festivities. On Nov. 21, guests can expect daily light and music shows, which will continue over the holidays.

The new outdoor plaza is about to become the centre of the holiday magic, with live music by local musicians from Nov. 13 through December.

Visits with Santa

Before the tree is even lit up, visitors at CF Richmond Centre can spend time with Santa himself. Starting Nov. 14, the magic returns, with families able to pre-book their visit ($15 per family/group) for a memorable moment and photo-op.

Three instant digital photos are included in the experience, which will also be more inclusive of children with sensory needs this year. Children visiting with Santa will receive treats courtesy of Purdys Chocolatier and a Lego surprise at select CF locations.

Finally, visitors can check out this year’s Fleurs de Villes NOËL floral trail between Dec. 5 and 14, 2025.

Whether you want to see the largest Christmas tree in the area light up, shop for a couple of holiday gifts, or enjoy a couple of free holiday concerts, CF Richmond Centre is the place to be.
