Cook like ‘The Bear’: Canada’s Matty Matheson is dropping a new cookbook

Canadian chef Matty Matheson may not play a chef on his award-winning show, “The Bear,” but he sure is cooking up a storm right now! Following a successful award season for “The Bear,” where Matheson plays the hilarious Neil Fak and works as one of the show’s producers, the real-life chef announced he is dropping his third cookbook.

Matheson took to social media to announce the cookbook titled “Soups, Salads, Sandwiches,” writing, “ALBUM REVEAL MY NEWEST BESTEST COOKBOOK EVER SOUPS SALADS SANDWICHES COMING SOON I LOVE YOU ALL!”

This is his third cookbook, following his other two, “Matty Matheson: A Cookbook” and “Matty Matheson: Home Style Cookery: A Home Cookbook.”

“Soups, Salads, Sandwiches” releases on October 22nd, 2024 and according to the book’s website, “Matty Matheson, known for his bold, innovative flavours, has created a cookbook that will revolutionize how you think of these kitchen basics. This book is for anyone and everyone, offering up Matty’s signature twists on the classics, delivered with minimal effort for maximum flavour.”

If you’re wondering what kind of soups, salads and sandwiches to expect, Matheson is offering a sneak peek, listing a few of the recipes on the book’s website which include:

  • Soups: Giant Meatball Soup; Crab Congee; Creamy Sausage Soup with Rapini and Tortellini; Caldo de Pollo
  • Salads: Everyone’s Mom’s Macaroni and Tuna Salad; Griddled Salami Panzanella Salad; Peaches with Goat Cheese, Mint, Honeycomb, Olive Oil, and Espellete
  • Sandwiches: Cubano; Italian Combo; Sun Warmed Tomato Sandwich; Banana Bread French Toast with Fried Egg, Peameal Bacon, and Maple Syrup

While it will still be a bit of a wait before you can get your hands on Matheson’s new venture, why not check out some of the other ones he has going on?

Of course, you can get your fix by streaming Matheson’s show, “The Bear,” which has two seasons currently out and another on the way.

Recently, the chef also released a line of seven sauces and dressings through his business, Matheson Food Company, available to purchase online or at Longos, Farm Boy, and IGA locations in Canada.
