Here’s how to go ice climbing with gorgeous views in Ontario

Now this is a cool way to try out something new. If you’ve done all the typical winter activities like tobogganing and skating, then it’s time to try your hand at something unique before the season ends. Liv Outside provides a guided ice climbing tour in Bracebridge, Ontario, designed to teach you how to safely and properly learn this exhilarating sport!

There are only a handful of sessions left this year, so let’s jump in.

“This Experience will have you challenging 4 different climbing routes as you develop your skills throughout the day and is focussed on the first-time participant. Liv Outside is a leader in these adventures and has been guiding and tailoring this course since 2000 to ensure you receive the best day Ice Climbing adventure in Ontario,” shares Liv Outside.

So, what will you be climbing? The experience takes you up 75 vertical feet of chandelier ice “clinging to the granite cliffs nestled in the hardwood forests of the Haliburton Highlands.”

Sessions run on Sundays, with two left for the 2025 season on March 2 and March 9, 2025. Participants will be outfitted with the proper equipment and guided by their instructor throughout the day.

The experience is priced at $225 for the day and comes with everything you need for your cold-weather adventure.

The provided equipment includes a helmet, harness, boots, crampons and tools. Parking is also provided with the total cost.

If you want to slip in ice climbing before the warm weather comes, Liv Outside recommends you secure your spot ASAP. Plus, it’s a pretty sweet brag to tell everyone you mastered ice climbing this year, am I right?
