A new immersive experience in Calgary will let you walk with prehistoric giants

There’s no time like the present, but the idea of roaming with dinosaurs makes us giddy. Luckily, if you’re anything like us and also dream of a land before time, a new immersive exhibit will take you back to the days when animals and plants ruled the world.

A long, long time ago, right here on planet Earth, footprints were bigger, forests were thicker, and our kind certainly were not on the top of the food chain.

Life Chronicles in Calgary is a new experience that will allow visitors to marvel at the beauty and richness of life without the use of a time machine.

What to expect

Described as an “immersive exhibition exploring the major evolutionary stages of the planets since its origins,” this incredible journey will require a VR headset, 45 minutes of your day, and an imagination.

From far and wide, visitors will be encouraged to get up close and personal with over 120 critters, ancient reptiles, and marine creatures — but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

With 3.5 billion years to uncover and several diverse landscapes, there’s plenty to see and learn about.

Interested in getting up close and personal with a Tyrannosaurus? Have a little patience.

The story will start in the Archean era, then travel to the Cambrian period, the Cretaceous Era, between 100,000 and 60,000 years ago, when human beings started to appear, and beyond that.

Sounds pretty cool, right?

Accompanied by a virtual guide and robot named Darwin, you and your group will see the Earth like never before, but you’ll have to get tickets.

If you’d like to attend, you can purchase yours now ahead of its May 31 opening date.

Prices range from $24 for children to $34 for adult admission, so get yours now.

You never know what you might learn.

Enjoy!
