Some of the warmest water in the province: This massive beach is among “Alberta’s best-kept secrets”

Where do you go when the sun is high but the temperatures are not? If you’re among the many who don’t want to waste a single summer’s day, you’re in luck, because there’s an extra special place where the water is pleasant, the sand is soft, and the view is wildly impressive.

Located just south of Brooks, Lake Newell is described as “one of Alberta’s best-kept secrets.”

Here, visitors can go canoeing, sailing, fishing, swimming, and are even able to do motorized water sports.

As one of the largest and warmest man-made lakes in the southern part of the province, there’s plenty of room for people to really enjoy themselves.

Don’t think you have enough time to cross everything off your to-do list? Extend your stay!

Lake Newell has a nearby campsite and resort where you can get comfortable and take your time.

No matter how long you call this place home base, you’re in for one heck of a time – especially because the area is home to several other attractions worth a visit including the Brooks Aqueduct and Dinosaur Provincial Park.

Check it out and enjoy.

There are few places quite like it.

Enjoy and happy floating!
