Swimming in a lake may not sound super luxurious but we promise these ones are different! Killarney Provincial Park is a 645 square kilometre wilderness landscape, including crystal clear sapphire lakes you’ll need to see to believe.

Don’t take our word for how beautiful this Ontario Park is, according to them, “the area has long captivated artists including The Group of Seven’s A.Y. Jackson, Franklin Carmichael and A.J. Casson, so much so, that they persuaded the Ontario government to make it a park.”

Before you check out the waters, take in the views of the wild pink granite of the Georgian Bay Coast and the La Cloche Mountains’ white quartzite ridges.

There are two beaches in the park but the sapphire waters can be found all around.

The most popular lakes are going to be the ones you’ll want to check out:

  • O.S.A. Lake
  • Nellie Lake
  • Topaz Lake
  • Balsam Lake
  • Killarney Lake

There are other ways to hit up the waters other than swimming, like canoeing.

Killarney offers numerous canoe routes that can be explored for only a day or for over a week. The deep clear lakes are described as “a canoeist’s dream.”

The information centre on the grounds has guides and a map detailing 11 of the more popular canoe routes and backcountry campsites in the park.

Time for an adventure at Killarney Provincial Park!
